Evacuation orders and warnings have been issued as firefighters battle the rapidly spreading Sandy Fire in Simi Valley. The ten-acre brush fire is threatening nearby homes and other structures as strong winds, reaching nearly 40 miles per hour, continue to fuel the flames. The fire was first reported shortly before 11 a.m. near Sandy Drive, where dry vegetation and gusty conditions allowed the blaze to spread quickly. Video footage from the scene shows several homes already engulfed in flames, raising concerns about additional property damage and public safety. Fire crews from multiple agencies are responding to the emergency, sending additional engines, aircraft, and personnel to help contain the fire and protect surrounding neighborhoods. Residents in affected areas are being urged to follow evacuation instructions immediately and stay alert for changing conditions as firefighters work to bring the dangerous blaze under control amid challenging weather conditions.
