Evacuation orders have been issued in a South Los Angeles neighborhood after police discovered a cache of illegal fireworks during the service of a domestic violence arrest warrant early this morning. According to the LAPD, officers arrived at a home in the Florence area around 6:30 a.m. and uncovered a large quantity of fireworks believed to be dangerous. Authorities immediately called in the bomb squad to assess and secure the scene. The affected area, near 85th and Main streets, has been shut down to outside traffic while investigators work to remove the explosives safely. Residents in the immediate vicinity were ordered to evacuate as a precaution. Officials have not yet said how many fireworks were found or whether additional hazardous materials were discovered at the property. The suspect connected to the domestic violence warrant was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
