After three days of emotional victim impact statements inside a packed San Jose courtroom, Shannon O’Connor has been sentenced to the maximum penalty for grooming children and hosting alcohol-fueled, sexualized parties involving minors. The Los Gatos mother received a sentence of 35 years and 10 months in prison.
According to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, O’Connor has already served roughly nine and a half years while awaiting trial and sentencing, reducing her remaining prison time to about 27 years. Prosecutors say good behavior credits could shorten that term further.
O’Connor, now 52 years old, addressed the court before sentencing. Her defense attorney argued that even the reduced sentence amounts to a life term due to her age.
The case has drawn intense public attention for years, with victims and families packing the courtroom as the sentence was handed down after a lengthy and emotional legal battle.
