One person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting that occurred following a high school graduation ceremony in Fairfield, California. The violence broke out Wednesday evening after a commencement event for Sem Yeto High School, a continuation school located on the campus of Fairfield High School. According to Fairfield police, officers responded to reports of gunfire in a parking lot around 7:15 p.m. Authorities said an 18-year-old was killed in the shooting. Three additional victims, ages 11, 20, and 25, were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Witnesses at the scene reported that the gunfire erupted as families and graduates were gathering to take photographs after the ceremony. The incident disrupted what had been a celebratory occasion and left attendees shaken. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are working to determine a motive. Police have not announced any arrests or identified a suspect.
