Six Flags Magic Mountain is facing three new lawsuits connected to its now-closed X2 roller coaster. The lawsuits allege three riders suffered serious brain injuries after riding the attraction, which has been shut down since July 12th while state safety officials investigate. Attorneys representing the plaintiffs say more than 100 additional people have come forward reporting possible brain injuries connected to the ride. The new lawsuits allege X2 has design problems dating back to when it opened in 2002. Two riders reportedly required emergency brain surgery after separate incidents in July, while a 22-year-old man died in 2022 after suffering a severe head injury following a ride on X2. His family recently reached a settlement with Six Flags. The company has declined to comment on the pending litigation. Meanwhile, attorneys say they expect to file additional lawsuits in the coming weeks as their investigation continues into the ride’s safety and injury history.
