One of the suspects in the Arcadia surrogacy scandal and child abuse case allegedly has access to more than 100-million dollars. Prosecutors say Guojun Xuan has access to about 200 bank accounts and at least 70 corporate accounts, with a combined value exceeding 100-million dollars. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman initially requested 100-million-dollar bail for each defendant, citing concerns they could be a flight risk. A judge ultimately set bail for Xuan and his wife, Sylvia Zhang, at 20-million dollars each. The couple housed more than two-dozen young children born through surrogacy at their Arcadia mansion. Prosecutors accuse the couple and their nannies of carrying out daily, severe beatings as punishment. Authorities say the case involves allegations of serious abuse against children who were living at the home. Xuan and Zhang face criminal charges in connection with the alleged abuse, while the investigation continues. Their attorneys have not publicly addressed all of the allegations.
