Nurses across California will walk off the job Thursday and Friday to protest staffing levels they say are affecting their ability to work and endangering patients.
Joel Briones is a critical care nurse at Kaiser Hospital on Sunset Boulevard. He describes the working environment. He says overloading nurses will lead to mistakes in care, which could result in death. Nurses will picket Thursday and Friday at Kaiser Sunset, and just Friday at Providence Torrance Medical Center and Providence St. John Hospital in Santa Monica.
