It’s not a scene from Stephen King’s “It”. There are multiple reports of clown sightings in Southern California, some threatening to kill or kidnap.

Two Cal State Northridge students say they were chased by a clown with kitchen knives. Similar sightings were also reported near schools in Fontana and San Pedro this week. Benjamin Radford is a clown expert and author of “Bad Clowns”.

“You have a stranger who is somewhere near you but you don’t know who they are. That anonymity is threatening to many people because of course, if you don’t know who they are, you can’t hold them accountable.”

Though the threats are considered a hoax, the Lancaster Sheriff’s Department says people should be aware of their surroundings, while the LA Unified School District says student safety is their top priority.
