Man Visits Disneyland 2000 Times … in a Row

Jeff Reitz likes Disneyland so much he has gone there every day since 2012. On June 23rd, he went to the Magic Kingdom for the 2000th time.

“The whole magic of the park is what gets to me, from walking through the gate and the smiles of the cast members greeting you coming in, to having a character walk by and getting a high four from Mickey.”

Reitz says his immersion into things Disney began in a quirky way.

“It actually started out as a joke between friends, back in 2011 on New Year’s Eve when Disney ran a commercial about giving an extra Disney day, talking about the Leap Day 24-hour day they had on February 29th 2012. Both of us had been unemployed at the time and we had planned on going on January 1st. While we were there we were talking about it and joking about ‘how can it be an extra day if you didn’t use the others?’ ”

So with annual passes they had received as gifts, the two started making the visit a part of their daily routine.

He says some of the characters now recognize him.

“Last night I was sitting down in front of City Hall and Minnie Mouse came up and gave me a hug. That was kind of nice.”

Since getting a job in 2013, he’s been going to the park at night during the week. His current pass runs out in January, and he says he plans to keep on going to the “Happiest Place on Earth” every day. His friend stopped making consecutive visits to the park after two years and a day.

Reitz was a guest on McIntyre in the Morning.
