L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer is taking Uber to court for not immediately telling some 600,000 drivers that their information had been stolen which violates state law. Also…
“We allege Uber paid the hackers a ransom. We allege they located the hackers and got them to sign non-disclosure agreements.”
In a statement, Uber said it has not reviewed the lawsuit and can’t comment on the details but it is taking the matter very seriously and working to re-gain the trust of consumers.
The lawsuit is seeking civil penalties.
