Russell and Paola French were inside the store when the shooting happened. The two were critically injured with Paola undergoing several surgeries and she had to be put in a coma. The family’s attorney tells the L.A. Times the parents now know about their son’s death and they are devastated. Their son, who is described as having an intellectual disability, was shot by an off-duty LAPD officer who claims he was attacked and knocked unconscious while holding his child and in line for a food sample.
