(Tallahassee, FL) — Florida’s governor will pardon those who’ve been charged with violating COVID safety measures. Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Fox News that he plans to meet with a clemency board in coming weeks to shield Floridians from what he called “local government overreach.” His goal is to pardon those with mask and social distancing infractions. DeSantis said matters related to “health should be advisory,” and not result in criminal penalties.
