(Tokyo, Japan) — Ikea is offering a micro apartment in Tokyo that it will rent out for less than a dollar per month. The apartment is 107-square feet. The Swedish retailer is accepting applications from potential tenants for the single unit until December 3rd. The apartment will be rented out through January 15th, 2023. Tokyo is one of the most densely-populated cities in the world and has driven a trend for micro apartments. This is also not the first time the Swedish retailer has gotten involved in property. Ikea has a joint venture with a construction company, which built affordable modular homes in Sweden, Finland and Norway.
