Aramazd Andressian Senior did not say a word when he was sentenced to 25-years-to-life for the murder of his 5-year-old son.

He never openly apologized in court or to his ex-wife for the crime.

Andressian’s lawyer said he didn’t speak because the moment was so emotional. The boy’s mother however called him a coward.

“Aramazd Andressian Senior is a coward because he took the easy way out to avoid a trial. He is a monster because he murdered his own child and has yet to show an ounce of remorse,” said Ana Estevez.

L.A. County Sheriff’s Detective Louie Aguilera said Andressian planned the murder and his suicide three to four months before.

He said the boy, known as “Piqui”, was driven from Disneyland to Santa Barbara County where his father murdered him back in April.

“He smothers him with a piece of clothing that was in the car,” said Aguilera.

Andressian planned to frame Estevez for the deaths of himself and their son.

“His intentions were to kill the child, kill himself and have everyone point the finger at Ana as her having something to do with it,” said Aguilera.

Before the sentencing, Estevez delivered an impact statement.

“There is no real pain, just an incomprehensible deadness. Like my son, I too have died.”

With tears in her eyes, she then directed her anger toward Andressian.

“When you die, may your dark soul burn in the eternal flames of hell.”>

Children and Family Services also received criticism. Estevez accused county social workers involved in their case of being partly to blame for her son’s death.

The search for the boy spanned several Southern California counties. Authorities focused on the Lake Cachuma area because Andressian told them he took the boy there the day after the Disneyland trip.

Funeral services for the boy were held July 18 in South Pasadena.
