Uproar At City Hall As Council Moves Towards Banning Exotic Animals

The measure would ban the use of lions, tigers, bears or any exotic animal for entertainment purposes. It’s something Catherine Doyle with the Performing Animal Welfare Society fully supports.

“They’re still being used for parties, they’re still being taken out for special events and that it’s still causing these animals to suffer even from the stress of travel, stress of confinement and handling.”

Trainer Eric Weld with Hollywood Animals says the measure goes too far.

“The quality of the food we provide these animals, the vet care, it’s ridiculous that animal rights people feel that we are this barbaric and it’s simply false.”
