Michael Jackson who helped build KABC radio into a Los Angeles institution and was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2003 has died at the age of 87.
Jackson was a leader in the advent of the talkradio format- and KABC Radio. We honor his memory and extend condolences to his family.

(Los Angeles, CA) — A well-loved and well-respected Los Angeles radio talk show host has died. Michael Jackson passed away Saturday after a decade-long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 87. The London native was a part of KABC’s lineup for 32 years. During his time at “Talkradio 790,” Jackson interviewed thousands of celebrities, authors and political leaders including Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. Over two-thousand of Jackson’s interviews are now housed in the Library of Congress. Jackson came to the U.S. in 1958 and worked as a radio disc jockey in San Francisco before moving to Southern California. He worked at KHJ and KNX before he began his long stint at KABC.
