(Uvalde, TX) — Texas police are admitting they made a mistake during the elementary school classroom massacre. Department of Public Safety Director Colonel Steve McCraw said “it was the wrong decision” to wait and not breach the classroom door. McCraw says officers should have gone inside because people were still being killed. A Border Patrol tactical team eventually went into the classroom and killed the 18-year-old suspect. Nineteen children and two adults were shot to death, along with the gunman.

TX DPS: School Shooter Previously Denied Plan

(Uvalde, TX) — Associates of the 18-year-old who shot and killed 21 people inside a South Texas elementary school previously denied planning an attack. Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw says the shooter made the comment in March in an Instagram chat but would not say what it was he was referring to. McCraw told reporters today the teen also discussed being a school shooter and said he’d bought a gun. It’s not known if anyone contacted law enforcement about the posts. Nineteen children and two teachers were shot to death Tuesday inside Robb Elementary in Uvalde. The shooter was eventually killed by Border Patrol.
